gallery 2.jpg The InFocus Town Hall is a unique event that promotes students, faculty and members of our wider community all coming together in an experience of using our "civic engagement voices." To that end:

Students, please approach this as you would an undergraduate research conference. Wear business casual dress; and be aware and thoughtful about your surrounding setting in your gallery zoom session.
- Make sure your face has appropriate lighting
- Try to find a quiet and neutral space (no pets or family walking through!)
- All this will help give you confidence to follow up your Gallery exhibit/slideshow with continued presentation and discussion of the research you have dedicated yourself to this semester.
Do make sure that you thoroughly visit and think about ALL the exhibits/slideshows in the gallery that you are assigned to; and read up on your faculty moderator and community consultant. Leave comments and questions for the members of your Gallery; and surf through other exhibits in other Galleries to also leave feedback! It also will be great if you can arrive at the Breakout with ideas/questions for other presenters. In the past some students have really connected with their faculty moderator or community consultant, leading to additional research and internship opportunities emerging from this encounter.

- What stands out for you the most about your own research, in light of what you are hearing from others' research?
- What questions would you like to pose to your faculty moderator and community consultant about your work? How can they help you to take this even further?
It's O.K. to feel nervous. Do come with your "talking points" that you want to make sure to include about your own and others' research. If you have visuals you wish to share with your gallery participants when it is your turn to share the screen, all the better!
Be your best attentive listener to other students, and your moderators; and make your voice heard during the discussion! Also be attentive to what you think are the biggest "take aways" from this experience, and be sure to share them at the end of your gallery zoom session with your moderators.
